According to FitDay.com, I need to lose 1.67 pounds per week in order to be at 120 lbs. for July 31st. That should be doable, but I may have to look into new recipes. I pout when even the decimal point goes up.

And Day One of the new porch gym. I wasn't too cold with athletic pants and a sweatshirt. I got most of the workout done despite having to change the weights. According to the periodization workout I'm using, I go up to 35 lbs. on the barbell and 17 lbs. on the dumbbells this week. I didn't get to finish the dumbbell exercises because my left shoulder was starting to feel fatigued. I still have to figure out how to do the push-ups, but I need to get some furniture I'm going to sell off the rest of the porch.

And I got one set of 25 crunches done. I didn't unroll the yoga mat because of furniture in the way and I want to hose off the porch (okay, I don't sweep out there at all). Feet did the slide thing until I jammed one against the weight tub. That got me through my first set. So for the second set, I repositioned with both feet against the tub and my back to the wide open yard. As you can see in the first picture yesterday, I don't have railings or screens on my front porch. Mustard came up beside me to see what I was doing.

I curled up for the first crunch. The ball grabbed up porch dirt, lost all traction, and shot out behind me. I still have plenty of cushioning on my ass because landing on it should have hurt a lot more than it did. I turned around. The planter and steps to the porch successfully caught the Swissball, so I don't have to chase after it. And Mustard is halfway across the front yard, puffed up and staring at me and the Swissball, waiting for one of us to head at him.

Wisely, I just talked to my cat and put away the Swissball and Mustard finally decided to come back to the porch since the dumbbells were not going to injure his kitty pride.

So if hosing off the porch and keeping it swept clean doesn't help, I may be in the market for a rug of indoor/outdoor carpet. I will give the yoga mat another chance before that though. Rugs are expensive.
