Ran across a blog posts moaning the fact that CDs and DVDs are designed to degrade—especially the ones you burn. Well, that was my plan for saving copies of my story files as well as transferring my bulky video collection to something more streamlined. It’s all well and good to say it should al be digital and online with a sneer, but that has issues too.
I’m honestly trying not to be twitchy about it, but buying a flash drive for every story is out of the budget—as well as a dedicated harddrive even though the price has been dropping on those. Not that I think anyone will actually be interested in what I wrote in 1988, but it’s part of my personal history along with digital pictures and etc. I don’t want to lose it because of some jerk deciding it was an easier way to make money.
